Words

"The more I try, the less it's working."
Jessie J, Who You Are.

Sometimes, we're afraid of telling people of what's on our minds. Afraid that we're going to be judged. Afraid that if they don't understand that it could lead to misunderstandings. Afraid of words that might spread from those misunderstandings. Afraid of what people would think of us. We are all cowards, aren't we? No. We're just human beings. Not everyone has the energy to go pick up that pieces of shattered self-esteem, leftovers from people's words.

People might say that "stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" but from what I can see, words hurt more. Words, once gotten out, can't be taken back. Words, once etched on your heart, forever it stays. Even if we attempt to erase it, another damage might be done in the process, still, leaving traces behind.

And whenever you give your word, say the truth
[al-An'aam 6:152]
And speak good to people
[al-Baqarah 2:83]

But again, sometimes, we worry too much on what people has to say about us, forgot to consider the only one whose thought of us we should be worry about, HIM. And to HIM, we could tell everything.
He who is greedy is disgraced; he who discloses his hardship will always be humiliated; he who has no control over his tongue will often have to face discomfort.
(Imaam Ali a.s)

May HE guides me, for I am only a human being, flawed and never was perfect.
