An avalanche and an ABC on a scorching hot day

It was a hot day.

Very.

Wait. Did I mention that it's a very hot day?

Oh yeah I did.

Very.

Just a second ago he wiped off the bead of sweat trailing on his forehead with his Burberry London classic tartan handkerchief and now the back of his shirt is already drenched.

Days like these, it was very hard to think and he was not even thinking of anything in particular. Even if he wanted to, his brain refuse to succumb to such determination under the boiling heat.

Adjusting his feather-light-like backpack, he looked down the empty road. No matter how hard he tried to recall the details but he still could not remember how did he end up there. On a deserted road with nothing around. Just a road, a scorching sun, and a teenage boy, him.

The heat of the sun pierced through the vein of his naked eyes. He took out his shades from his left jeans pocket and put it on. Ahh, much better. His eyes relaxed from the burning heat. Oh those shades. Ma's purchase 10 years ago. Sentimental. He remembered a friend of his who was a runaway model asking him where to get one. Chuckling, he would humbly replied, "Mydin bro, probably 10 ringgit or less." His answer caused him to raise his eyebrow in suspicion, refusing to accept the answer and instead laughing along thinking that it was an impromptu joke. Who could blame that poor guy for an innocent question and an honest answer? The shades does look new anyway. As if it was just purchased a millisecond ago and was custom made specially for his eyes, fitted to the shape of his face. Perfect! Well maybe it was. Just, maybe.

     He hesitated for a moment.
........

..
.
.

He took a deep breath and started walking. But it was a very hot day and for a second, he even thought, "Should I just stop walking, lie down and let the fate take over?" But then again, his effort is a part of what fate would decide, how would his journey embark. Suddenly his brain toggled to the history, clicking specifically on Abah's words of mavericks. He shivered at the chill of the respect he had towards him that comes alongside the tittle yet a comforting feeling resides in his heart. As he went through them one by one, the words of the sentences line up in front of his eyes, as if they were projected on an invisible screen.

He slowed down his pace until he reached to a stop. Staring at the invisible projector he stared at the words line by line. "You shall not dwell on the probability of a destructive future plan until you DO get there. IF you do get there, buckle up and deal with it at that moment, not now in your mind." He smiled. His eyes went for another random line, "Never let yourself put people under hardship and
train yourself to be okay with a vice versa situation." "In hard times, turn to Him, not to people." Hm, these lines do sound much better in Kelantanese accent. He thought and chuckled. A pang of longing inhabited his heart. Rindu. Sungguh.

The lines went on and on until another invisible screen came out in front of him. He read them as the lines came out. Still, it went on and on and on. As he started walking again, the invisible slides moved to his sides and moved alongside to his steps. The sun was reaching it's boiling point. Under the shades, he scrutinized his eyes that a frown creased his forehead but still, he kept on waking. The heat was getting on his system. It felt like as if the water has been drained from his body and he was starting to feel very thirsty. Very very very very thirsty. He raised up his left hand to readjust his feather-light-like backpack and it accidentally hit the slides on his left. The words in that particular line hardened into a snow like material. He scooped it with his hand and put some on his face. Ahhh, that chill. He scooped some more and tasted some. Hm, abc flavoured. Interesting. But as he put some more on his face it does not feel sticky even with loads of sugar. Funny.

I wrote this years ago. Can't exactly remember the date. Might as well post it.
